—You Are the Angel of Hope

Egg Donation & Parenthood: Share Love, Create Life

Due to advanced age, illness, environmental factors, or unknown causes, many couples long to become parents but cannot conceive.
Your egg donation can help them welcome a new life into the world and fill their home with hope and joy.
With your compassion, their dream of parenthood can become reality—your act of kindness may be a life-changing moment for them.

Benefits of Egg Donation: Health Screening + Compassion

As an egg donor, you not only help others, but also receive a comprehensive medical check-up to safeguard your own health.
Additionally, under Taiwan’s Assisted Reproduction Act, donors are eligible to receive a nutritional allowance of up to NT$99,000, offering real support for your life goals and plans.

The Growing Need for Donated Eggs

According to Taiwan’s Health Promotion Administration, there were 3,162 IVF cycles using donated eggs from 2020–2021, making up 3.76% of all ART treatments.
However, the number of couples waiting for donor eggs far exceeds this figure.
Your donation can reduce wait times and help couples start families sooner.

Common Questions About Egg Donation

常見問題

Q1: Are there side effects or risks? Will it cause early menopause?

Egg donation has minimal impact on your body and does not cause early menopause.
Only women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) may respond strongly to medication and experience ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), in which case doctors adjust dosages.
You are born with a set number of eggs. Normally, 1–2 mature each month while the rest naturally shrink and are absorbed.
Fertility meds help grow more of these would-be lost eggs, meaning you’re not depleting future eggs or impacting your ovarian reserve.

Q2: Is there financial compensation?

Egg and sperm donations are generally voluntary.
However, under Taiwan’s law, the recipient couple may offer compensation within legal limits, covering testing, treatment, lost wages, transportation, or provide nutritional allowance up to NT$99,000 after completing the donation.

Q3: Do I need to take injections every day? Is it painful?

Injections include long-acting and short-acting types. Doctors customize your plan. Long-acting: one shot lasts 7 days. Short-acting: daily injections (sometimes used together). Most injections are subcutaneous and cause minimal discomfort. You can inject at home, or return to the clinic for nurse assistance—no extra fees apply.

Q4: What is the egg retrieval process like? Is it painful?

Performed between 8:00 AM–12:00 PM,  takes 20–40 minutes depending on egg count. Requires 8 hours of fasting beforehand, Carried out under twilight anesthesia, using vaginal ultrasound guidance, No stitches required (only a needle puncture); you can go home after 1-hour observation, Most women say it feels like “a nap,” with no memory of pain, Some may experience mild cramping or bloating like a period

Q5: If my health test is abnormal, do I need to pay for the screening?

No. If you are disqualified due to abnormal results, you will not be charged. However, if you cancel voluntarily mid-cycle or fail to comply with medical instructions, any resulting costs or damages may be your responsibility.
