Other Applications of Vitrification Technology:
For Men
For Married Individuals
Egg freezing (medically referred to as “oocyte cryopreservation”) is a fertility preservation technique for women.
Through ovulation stimulation, egg retrieval, freezing, and long-term storage, eggs are preserved in their current healthy state for potential use in future pregnancy plans.
The most common method is vitrification, which minimizes damage during the freezing process and maintains the egg’s integrity and viability.
Women are born with a limited number of eggs, and both egg quantity and quality decline with age—especially after 35.
If you are not yet planning for pregnancy or your life plans remain uncertain, freezing your eggs preserves their current condition and keeps your future reproductive options open.
Common situations suitable for egg freezing include:
Preserves fertility before age impacts it.
Enables use of younger, healthier eggs for IVF in the future
Note: Due to ovarian enlargement, abdominal bloating may occur after retrieval. Refrain from intense workouts or yoga until next period to avoid ovarian torsion.
⬤ Eggs are stored in liquid nitrogen at –196°C

Higher AMH often means more eggs can be retrieved, but egg quality is determined by a woman’s biological age.

Do you need egg freezing? Understand your AMH reserve and live birth rate.
Based on Huayu’s analysis of nearly 20,000 Taiwanese women’s AMH data:
Not every egg becomes a baby.
Eggs must undergo thawing, fertilization, embryo development, blastocyst formation, implantation, fetal growth, and then live birth.
It’s a challenging journey, and both quantity and quality impact your success.
Each age group has different expectations for number of eggs needed and success rate of live birth.
Egg freezing involves retrieving eggs from the ovaries and freezing them at –196°C in liquid nitrogen,
preventing the decline in quality and quantity due to aging.
But not every egg results in a baby.
You’ll go through thawing, fertilization, embryo development, blastocyst formation, implantation, fetal development, and finally live birth.
This complex journey means both egg number and quality matter greatly.
As shown above, more eggs are required as age increases due to declining quality.
Meanwhile, ovarian reserve decreases yearly.
So freezing early—when both quality and quantity are optimal—is strongly recommended.
