Q&A

Age Eligibility

Q1

How is the wife's age calculated?

Based on the month of application.

Example:
If the applicant was born on July 1, 1984, and applies before July 31, 2024, she is still considered under 40. After August 1, she is counted as 41.

Subsidy Usage

Q1

If a woman used the subsidy twice before age 40 and had a baby, can she apply again after 40?

Yes. Each new pregnancy is considered a new cycle, and previous usage does not affect eligibility. Women aged 40 to 44 can receive the subsidy up to three times per pregnancy.

Q2

If a woman passes eligibility screening at age 44 years and 10 months but begins treatment after turning 45, can she still receive the subsidy?

Yes. As long as the eligibility was approved before turning 45 and the treatment is completed within a year, the subsidy applies. However, she cannot apply again after turning 45.

Q3

If the applicant is qualified but doesn’t complete the treatment within a year or decides not to proceed, does she need to cancel?

No cancellation form is needed. The system will automatically cancel the application.

Subsidized Scope and Items

Q1

Are treatments before July 1, 2021, covered retroactively?

No. The policy applies only to treatments initiated after the effective date (July 1, 2021).

Q2

Are there limitations on embryo transfers?

1.Women ≤35 years old maximum embryo per transfer.

2.Women 36-44 years old maximum 2 embryos.

(Subsidy will not be granted if exceeded.)

Q3

How is the age for embryo transfer calculated?

Based on the transfer date.

Example: A woman born on August 1, 1989, who has an embryo transfer before July 31, 2024, is considered 35. After August 1, she is 36.

Q4

Are PGT-A, oocyte freezing, or embryo freezing eligible for subsidy?

No. These are not included in the subsidy coverage.

Subsidy Amount & Process

Q1

Can I apply for the next subsidy before the previous one is fully processed?

No. You must wait until the previous subsidy application is reviewed and completed.

Q2

What if the subsidy deposited differs from the applied amount?

The HPA will send a written notice. Applicants may request a review within one month by submitting a written explanation and supporting documents.

Q3

Can subsidized medical expenses be declared for tax deduction?

No. Subsidized expenses are not eligible for tax deduction.
