Before the consultation begins, remember to observe your own condition. Being able to quickly help the doctor understand and identify possible problems during communication will make the treatment proceed more quickly and smoothly.
If you have the following conditions, or have been diagnosed with any of them in past consultations, please inform your doctor.
Endometriosis :Endometriosis is very common, occurring in about one-third of women. If you experience severe menstrual cramps, lower back or abdominal pain, or pain during intercourse regularly, it may be endometriosis.
-Suggested exams: Ultrasound, pelvic examination, CA-125, or laparoscopy.。
Diminished ovarian reserve: This is a precursor to menopause. Symptoms include irregular menstrual cycles—initially shortened cycles (normally 21–35 days), then longer cycles, eventually leading to menopause. If you’ve experienced irregular periods or missed periods in the last three months, it may indicate ovarian decline.
-Suggested exams: Hormone tests (FSH, E2, P4, LH, AMH), ultrasound or pelvic exam.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS):Symptoms include irregular menstruation, excess body hair (hirsutism), acne. Most patients in Taiwan are slim (unlike Western populations where obesity is common in PCOS). PCOS patients may not experience obvious menstrual discomfort, so if you show multiple symptoms above, inform your doctor.
-Suggested exams: Hormone tests, ultrasound or pelvic exam.
Fallopian tube obstruction: Often without obvious symptoms, making it hard for patients to detect. The most common cause is pelvic adhesions, which may result from endometriosis, pelvic inflammation, abortion, fibroid surgery, or appendicitis-related surgeries. Chlamydia infection is also a common cause.
-Suggested exams: Hysterosalpingography (HSG), laparoscopy.
Uterine fibroids: Usually asymptomatic, but symptoms may include increased menstrual flow, severe cramps, pelvic pain, or pressure-related frequent urination or urination difficulty. Consult a gynecologist to confirm.
-Suggested exams: HSG, ultrasound, or pelvic exam.
Thin endometrium: May manifest as light menstruation or amenorrhea. A thin endometrium can cause infertility or early miscarriage.
-Suggested exams: Ultrasound or pelvic exam.
