Pergoveris Ovulation Injection
This medication is indicated for the treatment of prepubertal cryptorchidism, gonadal dysfunction caused by insufficient pituitary secretion, and luteal phase deficiency.
- Mild and temporary redness or itching may occur at the injection site.
- Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, or abdominal pain may indicate ovarian hyperstimulation. The likelihood of these effects can be reduced by strictly following the physician’s dosage instructions and undergoing proper monitoring.
Injection Instructions
STEP 1
Wash your hands thoroughly.
STEP 2
Remove the protective caps from both the powder and solvent vials, then disinfect the rubber stoppers with an alcohol swab.
STEP 3
Using a 3cc syringe, inject about 1 ml of air into the solvent vial. Invert the vial and draw out all the solvent.
STEP 4
Slowly inject all the solvent into the powder vial and mix gently. Do not shake vigorously.
STEP 5
Use a 3cc syringe to withdraw the prescribed volume of medication from the reconstituted vial.
STEP 6
Replace the needle. Hold the syringe upright, tap gently to bring bubbles to the top, and slowly push the plunger until a droplet appears at the needle tip.
STEP 7
Disinfect the injection site (within three fingers’ width on either side below the navel) in a circular motion from the center outward. Pinch the skin, inject the needle at a 90-degree angle subcutaneously, slowly push in the medication, and wait 10 seconds before withdrawing the needle. Press the injection site gently with an alcohol swab (no massage needed).
STEP 8
Collect the used syringe, needle, and vials, and return them to the medical staff during your next appointment.
