Indications:
This medication is indicated for the treatment of prepubertal cryptorchidism, gonadal dysfunction due to insufficient pituitary secretion, and luteal phase deficiency.
Side Effects:
- Mild and temporary redness or itching may occur at the injection site.
- Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal bloating, or abdominal pain may indicate ovarian hyperstimulation. These can be reduced by following the physician’s prescribed dosage and undergoing proper monitoring.
STEP 1
Wash hands thoroughly.
STEP 2
Remove the protective caps from the powder and solvent vials, and disinfect the rubber stoppers with an alcohol swab.
STEP 3
Use a 3cc empty syringe to inject about 1 ml of air into the solvent vial. Invert the vial and draw out all the solvent.
STEP 4
Inject all the solvent into the powder vial. Mix gently—do not shake vigorously.
STEP 5
Insert a 3cc syringe into the reconstituted powder vial and draw the prescribed volume of medication.
STEP 6
Replace the needle with a 27G needle. Hold the syringe upright and tap to bring bubbles to the top, then slowly push the plunger until all air is expelled and a droplet appears at the needle tip.
STEP 7
Disinfect the injection site (within three fingers’ width on either side of the navel) in a circular motion from the center outward. Pinch the skin, inject at a 90-degree angle subcutaneously, slowly push in the medication, wait 10 seconds, then withdraw the needle. Press the area gently with an alcohol swab (do not massage).
STEP 8
Collect the used syringe, needle, and vials, and return them to the medical staff at your next visit.
