The clinic submits a request to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for permission to treat. Approval time and admission decisions follow MOHW procedures.

Once approved, the applicant must apply for a visa via the respective Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, submitting the consent letter and related documents.

Self‑Administered Rapid Antigen Testing
Upon arrival in Taiwan, rapid test kits will be provided. Starting from arrival day (‘0+7’), test every two days. You may go out if the same-day result is negative.

What Documents Are Required for Medical Travel to Taiwan?

Mainland China

  • Valid resident ID proving identity (e.g., Taiwan Travel Permit)
  • Application form for entry to Taiwan (permit or A4 document)
  • Original medical services application form for treatment in Taiwan
Please select the “medical Q” endorsement type when applying for travel documents. This must be applied for in Mainland China before each trip.
  1. Have your marriage certificate notarized in Mainland China; produce two copies labeled for medical travel to Taiwan
  2. One copy should be sent via a Taiwan-related notary office to SEF (Mainland → Taiwan)
  3. Retain the second copy and bring it to Huayu in Taiwan
Mainland-origin documents require both notarial processing and SEF verification before applying for the Taiwan entry permit.

  • Entry permit to Taiwan (online application or visa on arrival)
    For medical visits under 30 days, it is recommended to apply 1–2 weeks in advance.
