This medication is a hormone preparation extracted from the urine of postmenopausal women.
It contains 75 IU of FSH activity and 75 IU of LH activity, used to stimulate ovarian follicular growth.
- Mild and temporary redness or itching may occur at the injection site.
- Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal bloating, or pain may indicate ovarian hyperstimulation.
Following the physician’s instructions and dosage, along with regular monitoring, can reduce the risk of such side effects.
Injection Instructions
STEP 1
Wash hands thoroughly.
STEP 2
Remove the cap from the powder vial and disinfect the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
STEP 3
With the blue dot of the solvent ampoule facing you, gently tap the top to let all liquid settle to the bottom.
Break off the ampoule head (cover with tissue before breaking to avoid injury).
STEP 4
Use a 3cc syringe to draw all the solvent.
STEP 5
Inject the solvent into the powder vial and gently swirl to mix. Invert the vial and draw the solution completely. (Repeat this step if mixing with additional powder vials.)
STEP 6
Replace the needle with a 27-gauge needle. Hold the syringe vertically, tap to bring air bubbles to the top, then slowly push the plunger until a drop of liquid appears at the needle tip.
STEP 7
Disinfect an area below the navel (two fingers left or right of center) in a circular motion from the inside out.
Pinch the skin and insert the needle at a 90° angle into the subcutaneous layer.Slowly inject the medication, withdraw the needle, and press the site with an alcohol swab for 1 minute (do not massage).
STEP 8
Collect the used syringe, needle, and vials, and return them to medical staff at your next visit.
