Indications::
- Used for luteal phase support in infertile women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment.
Side Effects:
- Injection site irritation, pain, itching, swelling, uterine cramps, vaginal bleeding, headache, and fatigue.
Injection Instructions:
- Wash hands thoroughly.
- Remove the plastic cap from the vial.
- Disinfect the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab in one direction.
- Prepare a 3cc syringe, open the package, gently pull the plunger to loosen it for smoother operation in the next step.
- Check that the syringe and needle are tightly secured.
- Remove the syringe cap and insert the needle vertically into the center of the rubber stopper, making sure the needle tip is submerged in the solution. Invert the vial and draw out all the medication.
※Note: Keep the needle tip below the liquid surface during the entire withdrawal process. - Recap the needle, hold it upright, remove the 27G needle, and replace it with a finer 30G needle.
- Ensure the new needle is firmly attached.
- Flick the syringe to release any air bubbles.
- Remove the needle cap, hold the syringe upright, and gently push the plunger until a droplet appears at the tip.
- Once done, lightly recap the needle and prepare an alcohol swab to disinfect the injection site.
- The injection site is located two finger-widths below the navel, either to the left or right.
- Disinfect the injection site from the inside out in a circular motion.
- Remove the needle cap, pinch the skin, and insert the needle vertically into the injection site.
- Inject all the medication, and hold the needle in place for 10 seconds after completion.
- Remove the needle vertically and press the site with an alcohol swab for 10 seconds.
- Collect the used syringe, needle, and vial, and return them to the medical staff during your next visit.
