Egg Donation Process
Step.1
Health Evaluation
Phase 1
Basic blood tests (1–3 days); Ministry of Health and Welfare database check to confirm no previous registration or donation(about 2 weeks).
Phase 2
Advanced blood testing (1 month)
Step.2
Report Menstruation and Wait for Matching
Approximately 1–3 months
Step.3
Ovulation Induction
Menstrual Day 1–3
Begin using ovulation-stimulating injections or oral medications.
Since compliance will affect egg retrieval outcomes:
1.Be sure to follow the doctor’s medication instructions
2.Drink more than 2000 c.c. of water daily
On the day of visit, the doctor will determine whether to perform blood testing and/or transvaginal ultrasound.
Step.4
Monitor Follicle Maturity
Menstrual Day 6–12 (about 3 clinic visits)
Return at scheduled times for blood tests to evaluate hormone changes, and transvaginal ultrasounds to monitor follicle growth.
This allows accurate assessment of follicle maturity and timing of the best egg retrieval day.
※Note: Starting about 1 week into treatment, avoid intense exercise to prevent ovarian torsion!
Step.5
Egg Retrieval
Menstrual Day 12–15
Inject trigger shot 34–36 hours before egg retrieval (possibly early morning). Procedure is done under sedation and transvaginal ultrasound guidance.
Duration depends on number of eggs retrieved.
Post-op observation is about 1–2 hours; no hospitalization required, but rest is needed for the day.
※Note: Next period will likely occur 3–10 days after retrieval.
