#Sharing The IVF Journey from TMU to Huayu—Success Is Not by Chance, but by Equipment and Environment
After half a year of trying to conceive naturally with no success, we immediately sought medical help at TMU. The first doctor I consulted was a female doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS. However, after multiple visits and several unsuccessful attempts, I still didn’t conceive. Not long after, she left TMU to practice elsewhere. Maybe we just didn’t have doctor-patient chemistry, so I started looking for another doctor.
That’s when I met Dr. Cheng-Wei Wang. He struck me as unique because he personally handled everything. “He believes in what he sees with his own eyes,” he told me. I felt reassured and restarted my treatment journey. After continued consultations and efforts, we eventually moved on to IVF. But… my IVF attempt at TMU failed. I only had one blastocyst, and it didn’t make it. I was devastated. Then Dr. Wang told me he was leaving to join Huayu. I was crushed. Why were both the doctors I had followed now leaving? Would I have to start over with someone new? It truly was a dilemma.
Every time I stepped into the consultation room, Dr. Wang remembered my situation—not just from my medical chart, but from our previous conversations. Those details made me decide to leave TMU and follow him to Huayu.
Everything at Huayu feels comfortable. No need to line up for blood draws and test results, no number calling, and more time flexibility. But that’s not even the best part.
After egg retrieval, I was placed in a recovery room where dedicated staff monitored me closely. During the embryo transfer, I learned that the procedure is performed in complete darkness, and the embryologist stands beside you to carefully protect your embryo until the process is complete. Had I not experienced this, I wouldn’t have known the difference is so significant.
At the hospital, I retrieved only a few eggs, and ended up with one Day 5 3BB blastocyst. At Huayu, I had 8 blastocysts by Day 5, including one rated 4BB. The quantity and quality both improved—clearly, a good lab makes a difference.
I’m truly grateful that I made the right choice. After ongoing communication and treatment adjustments with the doctor, it didn’t take even half a year before I got pregnant. My daughter was born on January 19 this year, and I’m already planning to go back for baby number two!
